Water Pipe Rupture at 7th Avenue: Traffic Disruption and Water Supply Cut in Manhattan

The MTA New York City Transit, which operates one of the world’s oldest and densest subway systems (operating 365 days a year, 24 hours a day), said a large pipe under the roadway had ruptured at at 7th Avenue and 40th Street in Manhattan. Traffic was obviously interrupted and the water supply cut off in the area.
