1. Velvet
Do not use water to clean items made of velvet or other fluffy fabrics, such as suede or microfiber.
According to All Star Cleaning Services owner Laura Smith, when the fibers of these materials are wet and dry, they can get stuck in the position they last dried.
“As a result, you can just get a friction pattern that will be permanent,” he said.
Smith recommends hiring a professional cleaning service to clean lint-free fabrics.
The professionals will clean it using a special brush to make sure the material looks good as new.
