According to the expert, tap water in Kiev and other cities is the safest.
“The most dangerous in all respects is water from wells. In second place are wells, which people probably associate with the purest water,” the expert said.
At the same time, she noted that in fact, the human body is not very adapted to consume water, which is located at depths. We are also talking about artesian sources.
Historically, humanity has always taken water from surface sources.
Home water purification systems
Many Ukrainians install water purification systems at home. Mariana Ginzula says that at the outlet, such water is close to distilled.
“The problem with this water is too much purification, or not fixing the state, when filters clogged with sediment begin to enrich your water twice as much. This is a problem, because reverse osmosis is a very thin membrane that clogs up very quickly,” the ecologist wrote.
Well water
The expert advises testing the water in wells in specialized laboratories, since there are often cases when such water cannot be drunk.
This is due to substances that seep into the water, especially nitrates and phosphates. This is strongly influenced by the uncontrolled use of fertilizers in agriculture.
Water from pump rooms and columns
The ecologist said that according to the Kievvodfond, which deals with all pump rooms in the capital, 85% of them do not meet the standards for drinking water.
Moreover, such water contains various pathogens that cause intestinal disorders.
“This is outdated infrastructure and cracked pipes that come into contact with the soil. From there, these pathogens enter your body. We do not recommend drinking such water,” added Ginzula.
