Water bomb in Bresciano, the mayor: ‘Here is a disaster’ – Lombardy

State road and railway closed all night, water and mud everywhere. This is the scenario in the towns of the Alta Vallecamonica in Bresciano affected by bad weather and by the flooding of the Re torrent which involved Braone and Niardo. Forty people were evacuated for safety reasons and because of the smell of gas felt in the most intense moment of the water bomb that hit Vallecamonica. Three were not seriously injured. “At midnight, after an hour of intense rain, we heard a great noise it sounded like an earthquake: it was the flooded stream. Now it’s a disaster here,” said Carlo Sacristani, mayor of Niardo.
