The end of this school year already looked very different due to corona, and now that year is also closed in a special way. The Wellant College, an educational institution with 29 VMBO and MBO schools, organizes Wellant Live, a large digital school party. Snel, Edson da Graça, Pjotr and TikTokker Lieke Hammink, among others, make their appearance there.
“I am very curious,” says Ginger from the village of Westmaas, who has just finished her first year at the Wellant colleague. She has been talking about it in her class for two weeks. “We discussed it very often.” We’ll have a look, “we would say. And,” Who do you like best? “

She was ready for it half an hour before the digital party started. Dressed in pajamas, on her bed, with her iPad. “I’m just chill here, and I think I’ll call my best friend. Then we’ll follow it together.”
Ginger thinks the party is very special. “Such a party is usually not online. And so we can still celebrate the end of the year.” She mainly looks for the artists and the fun. Fast and TikTokker Lieke Hamming are his favorite. “Speedy can sing well and I have been following Lieke on TikTok for half a year.”

15-year-old Hidde van Alfen (15) from Houten is also watching with his whole family. He has just passed the Wellant College and at home the party is played on a big television.
“It is very special to experience this. Not many people can say that you succeed in times of corona and that you have such a party. That is very special.” He is especially looking forward to Rapid. “He makes good music. Very beautiful. I’m going to see him for the first time.”

Presenter Edson da Graça is happy that he can contribute. “As a former MBO teacher, I can still remember how special the last weeks of the school year were. Tension together, hand in books, wave to the caretaker and of course go on holiday with a bang. The latter, go there we go for. Wellant Live might be ‘better than the original’! “
