DOKKUM – A watchful dog managed to prevent a number of boats from being damaged on Saturday night. The vessels were moored at the Zuiderbolwerk in Dokkum. Around 3.30 am, four young people decided to release the boats on which people were sleeping.
The barking of the animal woke up the people on board and the barges could be attached to the shore in time. A report has been filed against the foursome and witnesses are now being sought. As far as is known, none of the boats were damaged.
