The Farmer Searches Beer festival is an official test event. People who bought a ticket were required to have a Covid Safe Ticket, which they could use to prove that they had been fully vaccinated or had recently undergone a PCR test or had a recovery certificate. People who did not have a valid Covid Safe Ticket could have themselves tested at the entrance via a rapid antigen test.
A test village was set up at the Party Bunker especially for the festival, where five to six hundred tests were conducted. On the festival meadow people could dance, drink and cuddle. A mouth mask was not mandatory, but some festival-goers continued to wear it.
According to mayor Kriekels, the test event went perfectly. “Nothing but happy faces here on the site. We do not expect any problems or difficulties, because ninety percent of those present here are acquaintances of the organizers of the festival,” said the Diepenbeek mayor.
