Watch the Xbox Series X demonstration – showing menus, features and more

On Monday afternoon, Microsoft released a new video demonstrating how the interface, functionality and operating system of the Xbox Series X work. Although the focus is on Series X, the two demo people say that most of it applies to Series S as well.

You can see the presentation – which most of all resembles a TV shop presentation – above.

We have already become familiar with many of the features demonstrated in the video. For example the “quick resume” functionality is highlighted – the fact that you can have several games put in standby mode at the same time, and switch between them without a long load time, to pick up the thread where you left off last time you played.

The interface has not changed significantly in appearance between Xbox One X and Xbox Series X. In fact, it was latest interface launched for today’s Xbox consoles already in August, and these are the same menus that Xbox Series X and S will use. One thing we notice from the videos is that the interface looks considerably more responsive, which is probably due to the focus on fast loading this console generation.

Xbox Series X and S launch on November 10. Competitor Sony will release its new console, PlayStation 5, a little over a week later, on November 19.
