Watch: The Women’s Film Festival “With their eyes” ends in Hammamet, Tunisia.

Yesterday, Sunday, between 12 and 16 October in Hammamet, Tunisia, the activities of the fourth edition of the Women’s Film Festival, which took place under the title “With their eyes”, ended.

The Tunisian Federation of Film Clubs organized the festival this year after stopping in 2020 and 2021 due to the Corona pandemic.

The festival dedicated to short films once again becomes a compass for female cinema and an opportunity for viewers to discover the creativity, ideas and directions of female cinematographic artistic content.

And she participated in this year’s edition of 17 films, eight of which by Egyptian directors, namely Aya Ashraf Al-Mursi, Iman Adel Abdel Aziz, Basma Sherine, Mai Hamdi Ashour and Lamia Idris. Safia Muhammad Al-Sawy, Kawthar Younis and Reem Ali Hassan.

Tunisia has participated in four films directed by Amna Fatni, Nohad Rahmani, Yasmine Anan and Nada Shaaban.

Morocco participated in a film directed by Wejdan Khaled, Jordan with a film directed by Dana Mounir Awais, Lebanon with a film directed by Christine Ibrahim, Algeria with a film directed by Souad Douaibi and Palestine with an opera by director Rana Abu Shkheidam.

Manal Souissi, director of the festival, said her main idea was to provide “a platform for female directors to screen films, regardless of whether the films are about women’s issues or not.”

The festival also witnessed the organization of a number of artistic events on the sidelines of the festival, such as a scriptwriting seminar for Egyptian director Basil Ramses and a drama therapy seminar, run by Lebanese director Zina Daccache.
