A video clip documented difficult moments experienced by the Syrian Civil Defense men during the process of rescuing a Syrian girl from among the ruins of her destroyed house as a result of the earthquake in Azmarin, west of Idlib, and trying to revive her in the presence of one of her relatives, and it appears that it is her father who watched the situation while he collapsed crying.

The little girl appeared lifeless and motionless after being taken out, so attempts to resuscitate her heart continued in the ambulance, but she lost her life before arriving at the hospital.

The Syrian Civil Defense account published the video, indicating that the rescue of the little girl was on the second day of the devastating earthquake, February 7.

It is noteworthy that, nearly a week after the massive earthquake, nearly 34,000 people have been killed in Turkey and Syria so far, in a toll that may double, according to the United Nations.

Seven days after the tragedy, hopes of finding survivors under the rubble began to diminish. In northern Syria, the search for survivors stopped, according to what was previously announced by the Civil Defense. Efforts focused on extracting corpses from under the rubble, and trying to shelter thousands of people who found themselves in the midst of a tragedy that they could not cope with, amid a scarcity of aid and places of shelter.

Hundreds also buried the bodies that were pulled from under the rubble, in addition to those that entered from the Turkish side, which exceeded a thousand.

The Syrian Observatory indicated that the number of victims in all Syrian regions has risen to more than 5,200.
