However, the film “Greenland” was one of the few box office hits in 2020, when the corona pandemic prevented most film releases or shifted them to streaming. Starring Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin, the drama follows a family trying to escape a comet impact that threatens to destroy the Earth. Despite the dark subject matter and the pandemic at the time, this film also found a large audience who were carried away by the exciting production and likeable characters. Now a sequel has even been announced, which follows on directly from the end. “Greenland” is a disaster film that revolves around the story of a family struggling to survive during a global crisis. For the second part, which will be called “Greenland: Migration”. Unfortunately no start date is known yet. However, the sequel will continue to follow the Garrity family on their search for a new home. After surviving in a bunker in Greenland, they must fight their way through icy and devastated Europe to find a place where life is possible again.
For the sequel not only should Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin in their roles to return, but also the director Ric Roman Waugh and screenwriter Chris Sparling. Waugh compared the project to the science fiction epic “Dune,” which is also getting a second part.
