“Watch the Barcelona Formula 1 Race for Free Online with Sky”

The Formula 1 race in Barcelona can be viewed free of charge on the Internet this Sunday. Sky shows the race on YouTube, among other places. After the planned transmission of the Grand Prix in Imola (May 21) because of the cancellation of the race had failed, the pay TV broadcaster has now decided on a new Grand Prix, as it announced. The transfer can Sky-Information on “skysport.de” as well as via the app and the YouTube channel Sky Sport be seen. This also applies to the Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest (July 23).

Sky has been the only provider in Germany to show all Formula 1 races since 2021. RTL had sub-licensed four races in each of the past two years, but changed hands at the beginning of the year against a new contract decided with the pay TV station. The search for one RTL-Successor was unsuccessful. According to the contract with Formula 1, four races per season must be free-to-air.

Before the race in Barcelona on Sunday (3 p.m.), world champion Max Verstappen clearly leads the championship standings with 144 points. The Red Bull driver is 39 points ahead of his teammate Sergio Pérez (105). Third in the drivers’ standings is the Spaniard Fernando Alonso from Aston Martin (93). Last Sunday, the Dutchman Verstappen also had the traditional Grand Prix won in Monaco.
