Bayer Leverkusen recently landed roughly on the ground of the facts – now a reaction is required. The clear 1: 4 against VfL Wolfsburg was the first, but it was a very emphatic wake-up call after the Corona break. Previously, the team of Peter Bosz had resumed the hunt for the Champions League spots with two clear wins at Werder Bremen (4: 1) and Gladbach (3: 1). On Friday this can be continued against SC Freiburg with the third away win after the compulsory break (8.30 p.m., live in SPORTSBUZZER ticker). Then it shows whether the bankruptcy against Wolfsburg was really just a slip.

The SC Freiburg interruption does not seem to have been good for them. Christian Streich’s charges are on the spot after two draws and one defeat since the break. The Elf from the Breisgau has only collected two wins in the last ten Bundesliga games. The connection to the international places is slowly but surely getting lost. VfL Wolfsburg are now four points behind – and that is certainly not an easy task against Bayer Leverkusen. So it’s high time to finally start a threesome again.
