The tree is presented annually by students of the Swedish Agricultural University to members of the royal family. In addition to the ‘Kungsgranen’, as the spruce is called, the students also brought a few small trees for the children.
Princess Leonore (7), Prince Nicolas (6) and Princess Adrienne (3) loved that they got their own Christmas tree. Adrienne, in particular, was deeply impressed by the small spruce she received.
Princess Madeleine was unable to travel to Sweden for the holidays last year, including her mother’s birthday, due to the corona pandemic. Queen Silvia will celebrate her 78th birthday on December 23.
Since the 1960s, agricultural university students have brought a Christmas tree to the royal family every year. Last year Prince Carl Philip and his wife Princess Sofia received the Kungsgrains.
