Cleansing is for those who have problematic data because they are not equipped with a National Identity Number (NIK). BPJS will temporarily deactivate incomplete data and participants are required to update their NIK data.
The method for updating data can be through the administration service channel via Whatsapp (Pandawa) by attaching a KIS Photo (Healthy Indonesia Card) and Family Card and KTP.
“We have a standard for participants to show their NIK or KK to be input into the master file and direct participation to be active,” said Head of Public Relations of BPJS Kesehatan M. Iqbal Anas Ma’ruf to CNBC Indonesia.
Iqbal explained, participants who are disabled and want to return to being BPJS Kesehatan participants, can directly contact the care center 1500 400 or they can go through administrative services via WhatsApp (Pandawa).
Cleansing is carried out in order to improve data accuracy so that it can provide maximum Health Insurance Services and follow up on the recommendations of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the results of the BPKP audit for the 2018 financial year and the results of the Ministry / Institution Echelon I Coordination Meeting on 21 September 2020.

For information, data cleansing by BPJS Kesehatan is carried out by referring to Law Number 23 of 2006, Article 13 paragraph (1) concerning Population Administration, where every resident is required to have a NIK.
BPJS Kesehatan also cleans data by referring to Presidential Regulation Number 82 of 2018 concerning Health Insurance, that the Healthy Indonesian Card (KIS) contains at least the name and identity number of the integrated participant, with a Population Identity Number (NIK), except for new babies. born.
In addition, the decision to temporarily suspend by BPJS Kesehatan was also carried out as a follow-up to the recommendations of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) regarding the results of the audit of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) for the 2018 financial year and the results of the Echelon I National Coordination Meeting Ministries / Institutions.
