McAfee discovered that there were 10 popular films that users watched through illegal movie streaming sites during the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB). The film then becomes the target of cyber crime.

“During the PSBB period, there was a spike in online video consumption due to the shift of users to alternative entertainment platforms. This created a huge gap for cyber crime,” Shashwat Khandelwal, Head of Southeast Asia Consumer, McAfee said in a press release on Monday (29/29 / 6/2020).
“History has proven that cybercriminals follow the trends and behavior of users to build their scam strategies. So awareness of users when online is very important to avoid malicious websites containing malware that can steal personal information, such as passwords.”
Here are tips on maintaining security from McAfee in accessing online content:
1. Be careful what you click on. Users who want to catch up with favorite Korean drama series or who want to watch Hollywood movies repeatedly must be more careful. Users are also encouraged to access the content from trusted sources.
