Northern Macedonia will be the opponent Portugal in the play-off final 2022 World Cup. Portugal is wary of North Macedonia’s slick record away from home.
Portugal will host North Macedonia in the final 2022 World Cup play-offs at the Estadio do Dragao, Wednesday (30/3/2022) early morning WIB. This match will determine who will qualify for Qatar.
North Macedonia have a good record away from home in the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers. They are unbeaten in their last five away matches, four of which ended in wins.
Two of the victories were won over the top European teams, namely Germany and Italy. North Macedonia beat Germany 2-1 in April last year and most recently won 1-0 over Italy in the semifinals of the 2022 World Cup play-offs.
“North Macedonia won four of its last five away games, two of them against one of the two best teams in the world (Germany and Italy),” said the Portugal midfielder. Bernard Silva as reported ESPN.
“Let’s do some homework, see what the coach’s plans are, and try to follow it in the best way possible. Different teams will demand different things.”
Bernardo Silva does not deny that Portugal is feeling pressure to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.
“The responsibility to be at the World Cup means, regardless of who the opponent is, we have this pressure,” said Bernardo Silva.
“The pressure is like that, and we accept it, and it will be the same against Italy, North Macedonia or whoever. We are used to the pressure at the club,” he said.
