SEMARAPURA, Radar Bali.id– There are cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in Klungkung Regency every month. Therefore, the public is urged to pay attention to the cleanliness of the surrounding environment and carry out abatization as a countermeasure.
Head of Klungkung District Health Office, dr. Made Adi Swapatni, Sunday (29/1/2023) revealed that there were 616 cases of DHF in Klungkung Regency in 2022 with four deaths. This number has greatly increased compared to 2021, where there were 219 cases with zero deaths.
“And until January 19, 2023, there were 39 cases of dengue fever. Every day there is something positive,” he explained.
Seeing DHF cases like that, according to him, it cannot be separated from environmental conditions that support the development of dengue virus-carrying mosquitoes. Especially during the outbreak of the corona virus, mutual cooperation activities to clean up the environment were not carried out optimally. “Likewise this year, mutual cooperation activities to clean up the environment have not been maximized. On the other hand, erratic rainfall increases the potential for mosquito breeding,” he said.
As a countermeasure, according to him, the Klungkung Health Office has intensively conducted socialization, as well as the health center staff. It’s just not sustainable because of the busyness of each community.
“I hope that the community, if there is a case, is the only way, not just hoping fogging but cancel. People can ask for abatement at the puskesmas and it’s free,” he said. [dewa ayu pitri arisanti/radarbali]
