The French – Latvian duo “He and She” has published a new version of the Latvian folk song “Saulīt’mana krustamāte” and its video.

According to the duo’s representatives, the music was arranged by the French saxophonist Fred Hormain, and the videos sent by the duo’s followers and friends were put together by video artist Kaspars Kambars.
“The main idea of the video in this troubled 2020 is to remember what the core values are – moments of happiness with loved ones and connection with nature,” the duo’s musicians write.
The video features about 100 wonderful sunny people from both Latvia and France, and the footage has been put together by video artist Kaspars Kambars.
The duo’s musicians like to vary between classical and jazz, between tradition and free improvisation, to combine folklore and electronic music.
The duo “He and She” started in 2012, creating an unusual concert format, synthesizing music with theatrical elements. The members of the group are Latvian saxophonist multi-instrumentalist Ilze Lejiņa and French saxophonist multi-instrumentalist and composer Fred Ormen. Musicians have toured almost all of Latvia with concerts, and have also performed in Luxembourg, France, Lithuania and Belgium.
