The approximately three-hour concert featured composer Zigmars Liepiņš’s most popular compositions, composed for plays, musicals, operas, animated films and the film “Vayadzīga soloste”. The audience was delighted with “The Song of Quasimodo” from the opera “Paris Notre Dame”, the performances “Emile and the Berlin Boys”, “Mirrors of Imagination”, “Momo” and many others. The medley of songs from the rock opera “Lāčplēsis” was particularly emotional. The first concert was attended by soloists Normunds Rutulis, Ginta Krievkalnas, Igo, Ieva Kerēvica, Atis Ieviņš, Aija Andrejeva, Jānis Buķelis, Katrīna Gupalo, Ivo Grīsniņš Grīslis, Juris Vizbulis, students of the music department of the Riga Dome Choir School, a group of musicians led by Kristaps Krievkalnas, the “Anima” choir under the leadership of conductor Laura Leontjeva, as well as unannounced surprise guests – actor Jānis Skanis, organist Larisa Tsarjkova and violinist Raimonds Ozols. The greetings will also be joined by actor Gints Gravelis, singer Dons, group “Citi Zēni”, TDA “Dzintariņš” and “Ačkups”, as well as several unannounced surprise guests and jubilee composer Zigmars Liepiņš.
