The video showed some fishermen collecting the jumping fish and putting them in a car in preparation for selling them in the markets.
The video also showed a fisherman kicking the fish with his foot so that it would not return to the sea again.
This sight started an interaction on social media, with some tweeters saying that this fish was caught by a net, and that the box in which they had fallen, which forced them to pick them up.
Another tweeter explained the reason for releasing the fish on dry land, pointing out that this type of fish is called “salmani” and is commonly used as bait for fishing after for it to be separated and salt added to remove water. He pointed out that the price of a kilo does not exceed 15 rupees, and that this fish is considered bony and has thorns. He confirmed that fish can sometimes migrate from one place to another, and if the sea recedes, they may find themselves on land.
