WATCH – Charlotte Adigéry and Bolis Pupul perform in British music show by Jools Holland: “Dream come true”

Jools Holland revealed that it was Jamie Cullum who had recommended the Belgian duo. “He told us how fantastic your music is and it is.” According to Holland, it was the first time that artists from Ghent performed in the show. Charlotte Adigéry and Bolis Pupul brought their plate for the presenter, with a hand-drawn cartoon on the cover. “Is that me?” Holland asked. “It could be you or someone else,” Pupul replied.

The duo’s first album, “Topical dancer”, was very well received in the international music press. They made the album together with Stephen and David Dewaele, known from Soulwax and 2manydjs. “We can always go to their studio in Ghent. It’s a kind of clubhouse, a musical family. It’s a fantastic place to go,” said Adigéry.

For Adigéry, performing at Jools Holland was a dream come true. “I’ve been obsessed with your show for years,” she said. “And it was my wish to play here.” She once made a song about the show. She has long forgotten that song, but she does believe that you should say things you want to achieve out loud. “I wrote the song so that this would happen someday.”
