Both Chelsea and Arsenal have been hit hard in recent weeks. Still, the London teams were not afraid to attack.
Early in the game, Christensen’s fumbling gave the visitors an excellent opportunity. Nketiah gladly accepted the gift from the Dane and gave his team the lead.
Arsenal couldn’t enjoy that for long. Timo Werner, who got a starting spot next to Romelu Lukaku, equalized by luck. Smith Rowe and Azpilicueta ensured a balanced scoreboard at half time with quick switchovers from the book.
Chelsea were in a generous mood and handed out another gift to Nketiah after the break. The lucky guy gave his team the lead again. Romelu Lukaku was by no means lucky, because after an hour his match was over. To the booing of some disgruntled fans, the Red Devil disappeared to the bench.
Saka decided the game from the spot. Arsenal take the three points from Stamford Bridge and are level with Tottenham. The battle for the fourth CL ticket is not yet over.
