Al-Marsad Sports: Anmar Al-Haili, president of Al-Ittihad Club, revealed the reason for the failure to sign Mohamed Salah, the striker of the first football team of the English club Liverpool, during the last summer transfer period.
Al-Haili confirmed, in televised statements on MBC, that he was with Saad Al-Latheh, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Professional League and Acting CEO, in London, to finalize the Mo Salah deal.
He added: “After we completely finalized the agreement with Mohamed Salah and his club Liverpool, Al-Lahiz was with me in London, but in the end they told me that there was no budget to finance the deal.”
He concluded: “I repeat, Al-Ittihad was the first to request a contract with Mohamed Salah.
Anmar Al-Haili, President of Al-Ittihad, to the Echo: We asked for Mohamed Salah and Marquinhos, but the recruitment program told us that there is no budget available for Al-Ittihad Club, unlike other clubs… and contracting with Gallardo is the best option for Al-Ittihad.#Echo_of_stadiums
