3 types of CGV waste screen goods
[파이낸셜뉴스] CJ CGV presents three types of screen goods using waste screens.
According to GGV on the 6th, a waste screen upcycling project has been underway since 2021 to reuse waste screens that are discarded or replaced in theaters. This project is our fifth project and we collaborated with ‘Reeco Seoul’, a brand that produces upcycling products using waste resources.
There are three types of screen goods: ‘laptop pouch’, ‘desk mat’, and ‘business card wallet’. All three types were produced using upcycled silver screens.
Due to the characteristics of the screen material (PVC), it has excellent durability and maximizes practicality by minimizing unnecessary materials.
The ‘Screen Laptop Pouch’ has a spacious storage space of 39cm wide and 25cm tall, making it easy to store laptops and tablets of various sizes. The internal filling material allows you to safely store various electronic devices, and the Velcro type makes it convenient to insert and remove devices.
The ‘Screen Desk Mat’ is characterized by an integrated desk mat and cushion-type wrist rest. The wrist rest uses memory foam as a filling material to provide stable support for the wrist. It is generously sized and can be used with both a keyboard and mouse.
The ‘Screen Business Wallet’ was produced in a size of 10.5cm wide and 7cm tall. The main pocket can store multiple business cards, and there is a separate pocket to store cards.
Three types of screen goods are sold for a limited time. Starting on the 6th, it can be purchased at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall, Yeouido Cineshop offline stores, and Naver CGV Brand Store.
Jo Jung-eun, head of ESG management team at CJ CGV, said, “This waste screen upcycling goods are three types of desk interior items in trendy silver colors,” and added, “A variety of customers, including students and office workers, can easily decorate their study and work spaces in a trendy way and enjoy the meaning of an easy-to-use environment. “I hope you can enjoy it to the fullest,” he said.
Meanwhile, starting in 2021, CGV has launched goods such as ‘little bag’, ‘multibag’, and ‘pouch’ by reusing waste screens. In October 2023, in collaboration with designer Kim Ha-neul, upcycled furniture and objects such as lighting, stools, and tables using waste screens were introduced. In December 2023, we are participating in resource circulation activities such as signing ‘E-waste Zero’ and a business agreement (MOU) on electronic product resource circulation’ with E-Circulation Governance.
