After several years with the Los Angeles Clippers without being able to achieve success within the Western Conference, Paul George decided to leave there and signed with the Philadelphia 76ers to form a “Big-Three” along with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey capable of competing for the title. However, injuries have been present at the start of this 2024-25 NBA season and the 76ers have not been able to have all their players at 100% of their level.
At 2-7, Philadelphia is near the bottom of the Eastern Conference and George has fallen short in his attempt to lead his new team to the top spot. A former figure of the American league spoke about the current situation of “PG” and made it clear that he is not at all happy with the player’s performance in this new season of the NBA.
Should George retire?
Brandon Jennings, former Milwaukee Bucks player, attacked George for his comments about his lack of interest in being the main figure of the 76ers. “Paul George can retire… He is wasting talent. I think we are taking care of a lot of talented players and we are not giving a chance to a lot of good basketball players…” he said.
“You shouldn’t try to take the last shot when you’re talking about not wanting to be the number one option,” Jennings said of the “PG” mentality of stepping aside and letting Embiid or Maxey have the last shots in tight matches.
