Jakarta, RNC – The dam is a national strategic project (PSN). August 2021, PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk (WSKT) signed a new contract to work on one of the national strategic projects (PSN), namely the Mbay Dam in Rendubutowe Village, Aesesa District, Nagakeo Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT).
Reporting from Kontan.co.id, Senior Vice President (SVP) Infrastructure I Division, I Nyoman Agus Pastima said that the funding for the construction of the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) was purely for the 2021-2025 budget year. “Waskita is working on the Mbay Dam Phase I with a contract value of Rp 700 billion and an implementation time of 1,440 calendar days,” said Nyoman in a press release, Sunday (29/8/2021).
He explained that the construction will begin with the existing 1.1 km road. Then the construction of new access road I along 6.3 km and new access road II along 1.8 km. Furthermore, it will relocate the 1.1 km long national road as well as cleaning and removing roots and then to the main dam.
Nyoman explained that checkers work is divided into 3 work zones (right -back, left -back, and river bed) considering that the river bed area can be carried out after evasion. For the work of playing checkers in the right and left -back zone, that is, the work of random stacking, concrete cap/capping and grouting, then there is package avoidance 2.
“After the avoidance, there is work to play in the river bed zone, namely concrete cap/capping, grouting, instruments, contact clay piles, core piles, fine filter piles, random piles, and riprap piles,” said Nyoman.
There are six scopes of work that will be carried out by Waskita, namely preparatory work, road construction or relocation or rehabilitation work, main dams, facility and supporting building works, health management system implementation, and other work. “I hope this development will run smoothly and can be completed on time,” Nyoman concluded.
