JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Waskita Karya (Persero) escaped bankruptcy. The Central Jakarta District Court has officially rejected the request for Suspension of Obligations for Debt Payment (PKPU) from one of the obligor’s corporate bondholders.
Regarding this decision, the Special Staff of the Minister of BUMN, Arya Sinulingga, stated that this was in line with expectations. Because according to him, Waskita Karya has sufficient assets to overcome its financial problems.
“Indeed, it has been estimated that way. The clairvoyant’s assets are actually enough to handle everything. So if it’s for bankruptcy, then no,” he said when met at the Ministry of BUMN, Jakarta, Friday (25/8/2023).

He said, Waskita Karya would face every PKPU application that came, even if in the future the company was again asked for PKPU. Currently, Waskita Karya is also restructuring its debts.
“(If there is another PKPU) just deal with it. This means that this is all in the process of negotiating with all debtors,” said Arya.
