Philadelphia 76ers assistant Sam Cassell was interviewed for the Washington Wizards head coach vacancy, sources told Fred Katz of The Athletic.
Cassell spent the past 11 years as an NBA assistant, including five seasons in Washington. He has also been linked in the past for openings that were available in the Rockets and Clippers.
The Wizards interviewed 76ers assistant coach Sam Cassell for their open head coaching position today, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA. Cassell was an assistant for the Wizards from 2009-2014.

Cassell won three NBA titles and won an All-Star selection during his 15-year playing career.
The Wizards parted ways with Scott Brooks in early June after failing to reach a new agreement, despite the fact that the team achieved a great comeback to get into the playoffs, where they were eliminated by the 76ers.
