Washington to Israel: No Bombing of Beirut Airport

The United States urged Israel not to attack Beirut Airport or the roads leading to it.

State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said at a news conference: “We believe it is important not only that the airport remains open, but that the roads that lead to it remain open as well,” to allow those who want to leave Lebanon, whether American nationals or nationals of other countries, to do so.

He continued: “About 900 people have left so far on these underbooked flights, while the United States is reserving seats on commercial flights that are still available get,” noting that “about 8,500 Americans have contacted the State Department to ask about it. the conditions to leave, but this case is not “That does not mean that they all want to leave.”
