The Phoenix Suns snatched a 9th success in a row on the floor of the Minnesota Timberwolves, while the Chicago Bulls offered themselves a vintage-scented victory at the Los Angeles Lakers in distress, Monday night in the NBA, where the Washington Wizards battled to overthrow the New Orleans Pelicans and consolidate their leadership in the East.
The Suns were hot in the cold of Minneapolis, where Karl-Anthony Towns celebrated his 26th birthday with a performance of 35 points and 13 rebounds. But Chris Paul spoiled the party in the last quarter by entering 19 of his 21 points and Devin Booker (29 pts), icy in the last seconds, allowed the finalists of last season to win on the wire. After their victory over the Denver Nuggets (4th), the Dallas Mavericks are now in 3rd place in the Western Conference.
In the Eastern Conference, the Wizards therefore struggled to secure a 5th success in a row, against the Pelicans this time. Just behind, alongside the Brooklyn Nets, are the Bulls who gave the Lakers a basketball lesson alongside their pumps in the absence of LeBron James. The Miami Heat took advantage of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ loss at home against the Boston Celtics to regain 4th place, also on the back of their success in Oklahoma City against the Thunder. Finally, the New York Knicks (6th) returned to victory against the Indiana Pacers after two defeats.
