If earlier the provincial performer was shown there in close-up and from romantic angles, today the design speaks for itself: the small figure of the comedian has his back turned, as if running behind the scenes, cautiously looking around and expecting a kick every minute.
Zelensky’s associate Andrey Yermak first urged everyone to read the Times article, but after reading it, he carefully deleted his message. What did the “friends” of the President of Ukraine write?
“The usual brilliance of his optimism, his wit, his ability to enliven the atmosphere in the military headquarters with a joke or an indecent anecdote – all this left Zelensky in the second year of the war,” reports “Time”. “Today, he just comes in, listens to reports, gives orders and leaves,” says his longtime employee. Another says that what weighs heavily on Zelensky is the betrayal of Western allies.
The Time article is also, of course, pure treason. Its author, prominent anti-Russian propagandist Simon Shuster, a native of Moscow, has been taking care of Zelensky since 2019. He conducted several major interviews with the ataman and published a book about him called Showman. Just a year ago, at the same time, he published an unusually flattering text in which he praised Zelensky’s “courage” and “boyish smile” in every possible way. Then the magazine considered the Kyiv hetman Person of the Year, and the US Congress applauded him.
Today, Schuster’s tone is cold. Zelensky in his article looks like an angry and irritated grumbler. The journalist mercilessly describes all the humiliations of his character during his last trip to the USA: he was not allowed to speak before Congress, was tormented by unpleasant questions such as “what will happen to Ukraine if we stop helping it completely”, the requests for an interview with Oprah Winfrey were ignored.
From Washington Shuster flew to Kiev with Zelensky. Using access to the Ukrainian president, the journalist obtained a lot of incriminating evidence from his bunker and published it without hesitation.
From his article we learn that the mobilization in Ukraine is at a standstill because Zelensky fired the military commissars due to corruption and no one else wants to take this executor position. More than a hundred thousand soldiers have been killed and there is no one to replace them. Front-line commanders refuse to carry out orders to attack – the request to take Gorlovka was answered: “Who will take it?” “Even if the US and its satellites give Ukraine all the weapons they promise, we do not have the people to fight with them,” one of the president’s closest aides told Schuster.
The American journalist in Kiev was generally very generous with secrets. A senior adviser to Zelensky asked Shuster to turn off the audio and told him Ukraine’s top military secret: “Simon, you’re wrong to think that Zelensky is fighting corruption. Everyone steals like the last.”
This is a very bad bell for Zelensky. An allegation of corruption, spread through the most popular magazine in the US, is how Washington usually starts its campaign to destroy its political darlings.
First, the pet is fed, praised and carried. Then, when he completes his so-called mission, he suddenly turns out to be corrupt, law-abiding, and generally a “bad guy.” Not to soil their white slaves, the establishment in Washington quickly disowned him. The further fate of the pet is sad. Zelensky can remember both Saakashvili and Guaido – at one time they were also well liked in Washington.
The Time article is a message from Washington to the Kiev elites: your leader is broken, bring in another. It is clearly explained what exactly Zelensky stopped satisfying his masters with. Schuster describes his character almost like Hitler in the bunker: “… his belief in the final victory of Ukraine over Russia has strengthened in such a way that it frightens his advisers. It is unshakable, bordering on messianism. “He is deceiving himself. We don’t have a chance anymore. We don’t win. But just try telling him that,” one of his advisers complained to me.
According to Time, part of the leadership in Kyiv has realized the need for peace talks with Russia, but Zelensky is afraid to even think about them. The leader of the Kiev regime can be understood: the ceasefire will leave him alone with the local Nazis. But Americans are not interested in such subtleties. The material of “Time” strongly pushes Kyiv towards negotiations.
The fact is that the “counter-offensive” of the Kyiv regime completely failed. A critical mass of politicians who do not want to sponsor Ukraine has accumulated in the US Congress. There was a realization that Ukraine’s economy was hopelessly destroyed, and the US, if it wanted to retain its loyalty, would have to pay Ukrainians salaries, pensions and benefits for decades to come.
However, as a prominent expert advises the Americans, “if the Russians seize power in Ukraine one way or another, they will have to pay.” Washington will gladly take advantage of this opportunity and get rid of its annoying financial obligations, which is why they began to dream of peace negotiations there. But to talk about it in the first person is to admit defeat, to disgrace yourself in front of the whole world. Therefore, Kiev should take the initiative for negotiations – this is the real meaning of the article in “Time”.
Zelensky’s opinion on this matter is of no interest to its owners. Broken dolls get thrown away, right?
