Washington’s NFL training head coach Ron Rivera revealed Thursday he has lymph node cancer.
Rivera spoke to ESPN’s Adam Schefter about his recent diagnosis.
Rivera shared the news with members of his team on Thursday. However, he was told that this type of cancer “can be treated and cured very well”.
“I was in shock. And I was angry because I feel like I’ve never been so healthy, ”Rivera told the ESPN reporter.
A contingency plan has been put in place on Washington’s side in case Rivera is unable to assume his duties this season. The latter signed a five-year agreement with Washington last January.
