Washington seeks starting point guard. With the departure of Russell Westbrook the Capitolines have only Aaaron Holiday for the position (he has come via trade with Indiana), since both Ish Smith and Raul Neto are free agents. Some of them may return, but they would still be second-unit players.
In that context, Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report write down a name: Spencer Dinwiddie. According to sources of the aforementioned journalist, the point guard could head out to the Wizards through a sign-and-trade with Brooklyn Nets. In such a hypothetical agreement those of the American capital could release some of the newly acquired players from the Lakers such as Kyle Kuzma or Montrezl Harrell.
Although it seems like a somewhat simple agreement, Fred Katz and Shams Charania of The Athletic They emphasize that New Yorkers would find it insufficient to get Harrell or Kuzma for Dinwiddie, so it is likely that they asked for something else (perhaps a second-round pick) to accept the deal.
Regarding Dinwiddie, despite having an excellent 2019-20 campaign by going up to 20.6 points per night, there are certain doubts after suffering a ligament injury that has only allowed him to play three games in the 2020-21 season. It was rumored that he would return to the court should the Nets reach the Finals, but this did not happen and we do not know if that would have happened. Washington could use this to lower the price.
