The Chairman of the High National Elections Commission, Imad Al-Sayeh, met today, Thursday, at the Commission’s office in Tripoli, with the US Special Envoy to Libya Richard Norland and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of two members of the Commission’s Council, Abdul Hakim Al-Shaab and Rabab Halab.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in the course of the electoral process, and reviewed ways to support national proposals and endeavors that seek peace and stability and aim to achieve consensus among political parties in order to achieve the expected benefits.
During the visit, which comes within the framework of the United States’ support for the electoral process in Libya, Norland affirmed that his country’s support for the commission’s efforts continues to achieve free and credible elections that reflect the will of the Libyan voter, appreciating at the same time the efforts undertaken by the commission in dealing with the previous electoral stages, according to what he said Move the official website of the Commission.
