The two musicians present this Sunday for the concert in the Saint-François de Lavaur church are Aurélie Fargues and Anne-Lise Labusquière. With a degree in Literature, Aurélie Fargues obtained the gold medal in solo singing at the Toulouse Conservatory, then studied at the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris. 1st Prize at the Picardy Opera Competition and 3rd Prize in Béziers, she was selected for the title role of Caprices by Marianne de Sauguet at the Capitole de Toulouse, the Grand-Théâtre de Bordeaux, the Opéra de Marseille… She has interpreted opera roles: Juliette in Roméo et Juliette by Gounod, Pamina in Mozart’s The Magic Flute. She also sings oratorio: Haydn’s Creation, Bach’s Cantata 51, Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Vespers of a Confessor, Handel’s Dixit Dominus, Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Fauré’s Requiem. It is therefore a confirmed singer that you will have the pleasure of hearing this Sunday in the Saint-Francois church. She will be accompanied by a local musician, organist in Lavaur. After her piano, music theory and accompaniment prizes in Tarbes, Anne-Lise Labusquière was admitted to the Toulouse Conservatory, in the organ (Xavier Darasse), harpsichord (Willem Jansen) and chamber music classes. She was harpsichordist of the Orchester National de Chambre de Toulouse and the Orchester Les Passions in Montauban, then vocal coach at the Studio Opéra, with the Maîtres Sonneurs in Toulouse. At the Montauban Conservatory, she held the position of accompanist and vocal coach. Organist at Lavaur, she performs in concert, notably with singers such as Aurélie Fargues and Gilles Ragon. The next two concerts of the Estival Organ will be given by Vincent Grappy – titular organist of the Blois Cathedral – on Sunday August 21, Wilfried Kathemann – titular organist of the Lavaur organs – on Sunday August 28.
