Call of Duty: Warzone retains the Modern Warfare engine. This is reported by an Activision employee on the ResetEra forum. Warzone will be integrated with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War in December, but the Battle Royale game will keep the current engine.
In a topic about the Black Ops Cold War and Warzone integration Activision’s ‘Art Lead’ simply indicates that there is no ‘engine shift’ for Warzone. The Art Lead answers a question that has been asked in the community for some time.
Movement is an important part of the engine. The Modern Warfare movement has a number of important features, such as the mount option. The Call of Duty Cold War Multiplayer does not have this mount option. On the other hand, in the Multiplayer of Black Ops Cold War, players have the option to swim. The question is how Activision deals with these different movement systems. Will they stick strictly to the current system or will they implement a number of new elements?
