During a conference on aid for Ukrainian refugees, the president of Warsaw was asked by a TVN24 reporter about the matter of the boat, which the municipal police intend to buy for over half a million zlotys. Rafał Trzaskowski stated that he knew the case and that “it caused him concern”. – This matter will surely be clarified and the consequences will be drawn from it – he announced. However, he found that the purchase itself made sense. – We are talking about the purchase of a boat for over half a million zlotys. The city guards boat is needed when it comes to what is happening on the Vistula – he explained.

The boat case for over half a million
The tender for the boat for the city guard was announced at the beginning of November last year. Only one offer was received, from the Marine Lab company, which offered PLN 589,000. It was considered beneficial and accepted. In the order, the guards indicated that the boat would be intended for patrolling various types of water bodies, picking up drowning people and carrying out rescue operations in cases of threat to life and health.

A detailed description of the subject was attached to the specification of the terms of the contract. It contains specific requirements and parameters that a boat should meet. They were looked at by activists from the Miasto Jest Nasz association and the Stop Cham initiative. They described the case on social media on Wednesday. They raised objections to the chapter on minimum sonar requirements. They alleged that the description of the contract had been copied from the manufacturer’s websitewhich then won the tender. They announced a notification of the prosecutor’s office regarding possible irregularities in the tender. They also once again called for the resignation of Zbigniew Leszczyński, the long-time commander of the capital guard.
