Warriors for Peace /Public Initiative Council/ – ADDRESS

/View.info/ Address to the war veterans from the reserve and reserve, the war veterans, the war disabled and the war injured – generals, officers, non-commissioned officers, sergeants and soldiers.

Dear colleagues,

We address through you and your families and to the entire Bulgarian Society… The deadly clouds of war hang over Europe and Bulgaria. Only about 400 km. on our side, a bloody battle is being waged between two brotherly, Slavic, Orthodox peoples. The war in Ukraine is the largest armed conflict since the end of the Second World War, with the most human casualties and destruction.

The hopes of peaceful humanity that reason will prevail and an agreement to end this bloodshed are not justified. Instead of peace reigning, we are witnessing an escalation of tensions and an unprecedented, even for the years of the Cold War, sharp confrontation that is pushing us towards World War III and nuclear catastrophe. Only guns speak loudly. Diplomacy is silent and does not work. The media is in the service of War.

The war in Ukraine is not our war. This is a war with geopolitical dimensions. It is fighting for world domination, for a new world order and a multipolar world.

Bulgaria is a frontline country located in the troubled Balkan and Black Sea regions. It is on the first front line of NATO defense in Europe. Our authorities took the side of Ukraine in the war and we participate in all initiatives of NATO and the collective West to support the Ukrainian armed forces. Bulgaria is “de facto” at war with Russia. The danger of being involved “de jure” in this bloodshed is very real. “The “war parties” are working hard in this direction.

The greatest fears of the people are connected precisely with these risks and threats to the security of the country and to the lives of the Bulgarian sons. Our people are wise and memorable. He remembers and knows that participation in wars in the last century led the country to severe trials and national catastrophes, including the loss of territories and population. Is there a mother who wants to send her child to the meat grinder of the war in Ukraine.

The accumulation of foreign troops and weapons on our territory is also a risk to our national security.
People hear and perceive the alarming bell ringing, shake off their fears and take their destiny into their own hands. For the vast majority of Bulgarians, peace becomes a national cause. Thus, the National Movement for Peace and Sovereignty was spontaneously born and gained strength.

This popular expression aims to turn Bulgaria into a zone of peace and a Brod for peace in our troubled region. The main forms of deployment of the movement are the marches for peace and the holding of a referendum under the title “Bulgaria – a zone for peace and security”. Five peace marches have already taken place, with the last one on April 23rd involving over 30,000 people in 36 cities across the country and a number of cities around the world. On May 21, the sixth consecutive national march for peace is to be held, which should have the largest participation of Bulgarian citizens and will cover the entire country.

The National Peace Movement is a civil, supra-party form of expression of the will of the sovereign, which is realized exclusively by peaceful and legal means.

The movement is not pro-Russian, nor is it anti-Ukrainian. It is in defense of both peoples. For this reason, the national movement promotes and defends the thesis of Bulgaria’s neutrality regarding the war in Ukraine.

The national movement is entirely pro-Bulgarian and unfolds in defense of Bulgarian national interests, sovereignty, life and health of the people. It aims at the unification of the Bulgarian nation in the struggle for peace and is an obstacle to the emergence of a Bulgarian “Maidan” and the igniting of a hot civil war.

The Bulgarian military – True to its oath and Duty to Family and Homeland, cannot remain aloof from the national effort for peace and sovereignty. A leading civilizational value and an unchanging motive for all of us has been peace and the avoidance of war as a means of solving international problems. The position of “bystander” is alien to the Bulgarian soldiers. Even more so, if it comes to the involvement of Bulgaria for immediate participation in hostilities, it will be precisely the soldiers from the stock and reserve who will be called upon and involved to bear the horrors of war.

Proceeding from the emerging problematic situation and the looming danger that Bulgaria will be drawn into a foreign war, supporting the long-standing initiative “Bulgaria – Brod for Peace”, on May 16, a group of warriors /generals and officers/ – we established A public initiative council to organize, support and target the professional and expert participation of the Society and the reserve army in the defense of peace and neutrality as a strategic national interest. This “Council” is of an open nature and will function as an expert formation to the “Bulgarian National Council for Peace” and the newly formed National Movement for Peace and Sovereignty”.

We announce the birth of the “Warriors for Peace and National Sovereignty” initiative, which will mobilize the efforts of the Bulgarian military to participate in the National Movement for Peace and Sovereignty. This initiative takes into account the special place and role of the reserve army in the defense and security of the country and creates opportunities for active involvement in the implementation of the national cause for peace.

The public initiative council has no leadership and management functions. It has the sole task of assisting the Bulgarian military and military-patriotic organizations in the struggle for peace and coordinating with the National Public Council the participation in national and local events.
