Warped Perception’s Hybrid Diesel Tesla: A Game-Changer for Electric Car Charging

Youtuber Creates Hybrid Tesla Model with Diesel Engine in Trunk, Dramatically Increases Mileage and Reduces Recharging

Charging an electric car can be a tedious process, with stops taking much longer and fast charging stations not being as common as regular gas stations. However, Matt Mikka, the host of the popular YouTube channel Warped Perception, has come up with a unique solution to this problem. He has placed a diesel engine in the trunk of a Tesla Model S, significantly increasing its mileage and reducing the need for frequent recharging.

According to Mikka, the modified Tesla can now confidently travel over 1,500 km without the need for recharging, compared to the approximately 650 km range of a production model. This impressive improvement in mileage is a result of the diesel engine charging the Tesla’s battery while driving or stationary, eliminating the need for routine stops to charge.

Last year, Mikka created the concept of a homemade hybrid and then rebuilt the prototype, which traveled almost 4,350 km during the process of filming a video for his YouTube channel. Except for the engine itself, Mikka personally created all the necessary details for the hybrid Tesla.

The hybrid Tesla consumes 51 Wh per mile, giving it a theoretical margin of 2,575 km. Mikka believes that he has created a car that is close to ideal in terms of mileage and recharging convenience. However, he does admit that the system often overheats, and the engine can be terribly noisy.

“With that constant buzz behind you… you either forget about it or you want to open the door and jump right out onto the freeway. But it showed me the direction in which to move forward,” Mikka said.

Undeterred by the challenges, Mikka is already working on the third version of the hybrid Tesla and is planning another long test drive. He is determined to further refine his creation and make it even more efficient and practical.

The innovative project by Matt Mikka has garnered attention and interest from car enthusiasts and electric vehicle enthusiasts alike. It showcases the potential for combining different technologies to enhance the performance and range of electric vehicles.

How did Matt Mikka modify the Tesla Model S to increase its mileage capacity?

YouTuber Transforms Tesla Model with Diesel Engine in Trunk, Boosts Mileage and Cuts Charging Time

The process of charging an electric car can be time-consuming and inconvenient, but one innovative YouTuber has found a unique solution to this problem. Matt Mikka, the host of the popular YouTube channel Warped Perception, has successfully modified a Tesla Model S by installing a diesel engine in the trunk. This modification has dramatically increased the car’s mileage capacity, allowing it to travel over 1,500 km without the need for recharging.

In comparison to the standard Tesla Model S, which has a range of approximately 650 km, Mikka’s modified hybrid Tesla has proven to be a game-changer. The diesel engine not only charges the car’s battery while driving, but also while stationary, eliminating the need for frequent charging stops.

Last year, Mikka developed the concept of a homemade hybrid vehicle, and he recently rebuilt the prototype for filming a video on his YouTube channel. Impressively, the prototype traveled almost 4,350 km during the filming process. Mikka personally took care of all the necessary modifications and details for the hybrid Tesla, except for the engine itself.

The hybrid Tesla boasts a fuel consumption rate of 51 Wh per mile, giving it a theoretical range of 2,575 km. Mikka believes that he has created a car that is close to being perfect in terms of mileage and charging convenience. However, he acknowledges that there are some drawbacks, including overheating issues and the loud noise emitted by the diesel engine.

Despite these challenges, Mikka remains undeterred. He is now working on the third version of the hybrid Tesla and is planning another extensive test drive. His goal is to further refine his creation and make it even more efficient and practical.

Matt Mikka’s innovative project has captured the attention and interest of car enthusiasts and electric vehicle enthusiasts alike. It showcases the potential for combining different technologies to enhance the performance and range of electric vehicles, offering a promising solution to common charging concerns.
