Warnings associated with storm Filomena in the Southern Basque Country are raised Basque Country

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has lifted the warnings for Nafarroa due to the snowfalls associated with the storm Filomena, which affected the entire territory of the Herrialde yesterday, while the Government of Lakua has lifted the yellow warning for snowfalls, although it maintains it until Tuesday by frost.

In the next few hours the Emergency Advisory Committee will meet to evaluate the situation and assess the possible deactivation of the current alerts, the Government of Nafarroa reports in a statement.

The meteorological forecast announces for today weak precipitations in the form of snow from the level of 400 meters, more intense in the mountainous areas of the northern half and that will be remitting at the end of the day. Generalized weak frosts are also expected, stronger in the Pyrenean area.

Road conditions

At 10.00 on Sunday, the Ebro highway (A-68) remains closed to heavy traffic, towards Zaragoza, due to the accumulated snow in the Aragon section.

As for the secondary network, the NA-137 (Burgi-Izaba-Areta), it is closed from kilometer 47 (Belagua port, Venta de Juan Pito) due to the formation of snowdrifts and ice sheets on the road, and on the N-2011 (Otsagabia-Larraine) the port of Larraine is closed due to the same circumstances.

Chains are required on the NA-718 (Lizarra-Olatzagutia), between kilometers 17 and 38 (Urbasa port); NA-7210 (Meano-Bernedo) between kilometers 4.9 and 6.3; NA-7230 (Viana-Aguilar de Codés), between kilometers 8 and 16.9 (port of Aras); NA-7510, access to San Miguel de Aralar, from kilometer 4 (Baraibar); NA-138 (Zubiri-Urepele via Alduides), between kilometers 11 and 24 (Urkiaga port); NA-1740 (Irurita-Eugi) from kilometer 6 to 22 (Puerto de Artesiaga); NA-176, (Garde-Ansó), from kilometer 8 (Matamachos port), and NA-2000 (Izaba-Zuriza) from the beginning.
