While this does not affect the security of the device, we do not recommend that you check for yourself that it works.
According to several testimonies from Internet users on social networks, it would be enough to type the four characters “”:: in the search space of your iPhone to literally crash the home screen. In fact, this simple code is enough to crash Springboard, the application that manages the smartphone’s home screen. In practice, the home screen turns off and, depending on the case, a black screen or the lock screen appears. Note that this works on both iPhone and iPad, at your own risk.
This is obviously not a big deal and does not harm the security of the device. This is also why Apple does not seem particularly concerned about these alerts, according to TechCrunchIt remains to be seen whether a fix will be made to iOS 18, expected at the start of the school year.
