Warning strikes at Postbank branches – FFH.de

As part of the collective bargaining round at Postbank, there are also warning strikes in Postbank branches in Hesse. ver.di has called two branches in Frankfurt and one in Offenbach to a warning strike.

Delays in operations or closure of the branches must be expected by the end of the service on Saturday. Against the background of the current incidence of the corona pandemic, the industrial action is taking place as a digital strike. There will be no public gatherings or demonstrations.

Behavior of employer “outrageous”

ver.di started the collective bargaining round at the beginning of the week. Chief negotiator Jan Showereck: “The behavior of the employers in the first round of negotiations was outrageous, especially when it came to salary. The employer side has made it unmistakably clear here that they are not interested in the current development of inflation and the associated loss of purchasing power. We won’t let the bank get away with that.”

Germany-wide warning strikes

These local strikes are part of nationwide warning strikes. Ver.di wants to put pressure on Deutsche Bank, to which Postbank belongs, by February 22nd.
ver.di is demanding 6 percent more wages for the 15,000 Postbank employees, but at least 150 euros. There should also be a corona bonus of 1,500 euros. Mobile working is one of the focal points of the negotiations: Employees should be entitled to work mobile for up to 60 percent of their working hours.
