Warning strike of the KVB: The railways have been standing still since Monday morning | Regional

Cologne – It’s a very difficult start to the week for commuters in the Rhineland: All trains have been out of service since Monday morning due to a strike. The worst: The stoppage is supposed to last until Wednesday morning.

The Ver.di union called for all-day warning strikes on Monday and Tuesday in Düsseldorf, Düren, Bonn, Hagen, Münster, Krefeld and Cologne, among others. In the second round of negotiations between the collective bargaining partners, there was previously no result.

The union demands, among other things, that the length of service be reduced from twelve to ten hours and rest periods increased from ten to eleven hours. There should also be improvements in time surcharges.

The railways have been standing still since three in the morning. In bus traffic, only those trips take place that are carried out according to plan by subcontractors.

Deutsche Bahn is not affected by the dispute. Commuters can also use the regional trains and S-Bahn trains in the individual cities on Monday and Tuesday.

The negotiations are to continue on November 6th and 7th.
