Snow settled in several locations across the country on Tuesday and the grade scale is mostly pointing to the downside.
The Eastern Police report several clashes along the streets.
– Along some main and secondary roads in Østfold and Follo it is very slippery in places, they tweeted at 5pm.
The Oslo police also have a clear message:
– There are generally difficult driving conditions in different places in the district. We ask road users to drive according to conditions and allow plenty of time, they wrote on Twitter.
They also state that there will be traffic problems and queues in several places due to road accidents.
Chaos in the south
Reports of difficult driving conditions with snow, precipitation, wind and darkness have also been received in the Sør-West police district.
At Ølen in Haugalandet, in the far north of Rogaland, there are long queues on the E134 on Tuesday afternoons.
– Caravans and cars are found at crossroads. Work is underway to get the vehicles back into operation, they write further.
Appeal to motorists
Vegtrafikksentralen East has a clear message for motorists who will be traveling on the roads tonight:
– It is filling up with snow, we are also trying to take the plow away. Today it’s good to keep an extra distance and reduce your speed according to road conditions, says Jeanette Andresen, traffic officer for the Norwegian Road Administration.
Understand that driving conditions can vary widely.
– But where there is snow and ice, we encourage road users to take it easy and adjust their speed. Adopt today a smooth driving style without sudden movements, she concludes.
