Warning Signs of Stomach Cancer: What to Look Out For

Dr Katie Kasrae, a GP at the London General Clinic, has revealed four ‘warning signs’ of stomach cancer.

Signs can appear in the very early stages of stomach cancer. Include:

– Early satiety/fullness.
– Unexplained weight loss.
– Tired.
– Constant heartburn.

“Some of these symptoms can be confused with gastroesophageal reflux,” Kasray warned. “Fatigue may be attributed to anemia.”

The British National Health Service says that gastroesophageal reflux is a common condition that occurs when stomach acid leaks into the esophagus, leading to heartburn.

So, if these symptoms indicate a less serious condition like acid reflux, how do you know when it’s time to make a doctor’s appointment?

“If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms for more than three weeks, you should book an appointment with your GP,” Kasrae replied.

Other symptoms of stomach cancer

Cancer Research UK has listed more stomach cancer symptoms to look out for, such as:

– Difficulty swallowing (dysphagia).
– Abdominal pain.
– Feeling sick.
– Dark stool.
