California, Gizmologi – When the iPhone 13 doesn’t have a more expensive price, it’s not so with the price of the iPhone 14. This latest Apple flagship phone will be priced at a higher price than the previous generation.
Although the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine are still volatile and result in inflation in various sectors, this is not the case with cell phone prices. As we can see, if the price of the iPhone 13 and Galaxy S22 series does not increase.
However, the same price does not seem to be the case for the iPhone 14. Various rumors indicate that the price of Apple’s latest mobile phone will be expensive.
Even a recent report states that there is a drastic increase in costs that cannot be avoided from Apple parts suppliers. Companies in the iPhone chain have indirectly confirmed that Apple will transfer some of the increased cost of manufacturing iPhones to consumers this year.
One of those who confirmed this was a supplier company from Japan, namely Denko KK. Through published reports Bloombergthe company will raise prices and reduce unprofitable product lines as it grapples with a series of economic challenges facing the $550 billion semiconductor industry.
Hideyuki Somemiya, the company’s Chief Financial Officer said that a dozen gains this year were due to supply disruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, soaring energy costs due to the war in Ukraine, and the dramatic weakening of the yen. He claims, this situation will not improve significantly until at least 2023. Duh!
“This year’s big theme that is common to all players in the materials industry is how much cost we can convince consumers to share with us. Current market movements require us to ask for double the amount we previously calculated,” said Somemiya.
Showa Denko may sound foreign to Apple fanboys, because this company is not a direct supplier to Apple. But the company supplies critical chip fabrication materials to TSMC, which manufactures the special A and M series chips that power the iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
TSMC itself will produce the A16 chip for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, as well as the A15 for the iPhone 13 and non-Pro iPhone 14 products. Of course, the difficulties experienced by Showa Denko also affect TSMC.
iPhone 14 Price Prediction
Ahead of the launch which is predicted to be carried out in September, Apple is rumored to be increasing the average cost for the price of the iPhone 14 series using two different steps.
First, the $699 iPhone Mini will be replaced with the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Plus/Max. This latest device will be at least $200 more expensive than the iPhone 13 Mini variant.
As a result, the cheapest iPhone 14 price that Apple will sell this year is the iPhone 14 which will reportedly be priced at US $ 799. It’s arguably the same price as the iPhone 13 when it was launched last year, but at least there isn’t a smaller and cheaper iPhone, namely the iPhone Mini.
Second, the price of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will reportedly be more expensive than the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max. The Pro series devices will start at US$ 1,099 and the cheapest iPhone 14 Pro Max will be priced at US$1,199.
