The Moroccan Meteorological Directorate warned of heavy “stormy” rains of up to 120 mm, accompanied by strong winds of up to 95 kilometers per hour and local storms.
In a special warning bulletin, Moroccan meteorology raised the alert level to orange with expectations of strong rain showers accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds, starting from three in the afternoon on Wednesday until six in the evening on Thursday.
It was stated that the rainy weather condition would include several regions, including Kelaat Sraghna, Marrakesh, Al Haouz, Oukaimeden, Souss, Tinghir, Agadir Idoutnan, Chtouka Ait Baha, Imnanot, Tiznit, Zagora, Tadla Plain, Berrechid, Taroudant, Essaouira, Chichaoua, El Jadida, and Fkih. Ben Saleh, Khouribga, Midelt, the High and Mediterranean Atlas highlands, the central plains, the eastern regions, the northwest, the western Rif, the phosphate plateaus and the Oulmas.
The Moroccan Meteorological Directorate called on citizens to exercise caution and avoid going out during thunderbolts and storms.
