The Financial Services Authority (OJK) warns the public to be careful with fraudulent investment mode using fake licenses on behalf of OJK. This follows the circulation of a fake license from Medizaa International Medical Equipment Co. Ltd.
In the letter circulating, the company claims to have obtained a permit and has complied with regulations in offering investment in leasing medical devices through the Medizaa application.
Meanwhile, the letter also uses the letterhead with the OJK logo so that it looks as if the original letter was officially issued. Regarding this matter, OJK emphasized that it had never given such a permit.
“OJK has never given permission to Medizaa International Medical Equipment Co. Ltd,” wrote OJK through its official website, quoted on Sunday (16/7/2023).
Therefore, OJK warns the public to always be aware of fake investment modes, one of which is through fake letters, as happened in this case.
“Be wary of fraudulent investment modes that use fake letters on behalf of the OJK,” OJK wrote.
If the public receives an investment offer, OJK urges them to always remember 2L (Legality and Logic). Check the legality of the company permit that offers the investment, as well as check whether the benefits offered are logical or reasonable.
Legal means ensuring that the product/service offered has the proper business license from the supervising authority/institution. Logical means always paying attention to the results/benefits offered, whether they are logical or not.
“Check the correctness of information on behalf of OJK to OJK Contact 157 @ Kontak157, Whatsapp 081 157 157 157,” OJK appealed.
