Warning! A total of 7,329 Lampung residents were infected with dengue fever

Kupastutas.co, Bandar Lampung – Lampung Regional Health Service noted, until September 2024 as much as 7,329 Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) affected residents in the local area and 24 people were declared dead.

“The number of dengue fever cases in Lampung between January and September 2024 was 7,329 people and 24 people were declared dead,” Lampung Province Health Service (Dinkes) Chief Edwin Rusli said when asked for information, Monday (14 /10)./2024).

Edwin said that cases of dengue fever were spread throughout all areas in Lampung but the majority were in North Lampung which reached 1,349 people, Central Lampung 1,008 people, Pringsewu 671 people, West Lampung 632 people.

Then East Lampung 632 people, Metro 533 people, West Tulangbawang 404 people, Pesawaran 388 people, Tanggamus 346 people, Bandar Lampung 343 people, Pesisir Barat 253 people, Way Kanan 232 people, South Lampung 217 people, Mesuji 168 people and Tu5 Bawang a person.

“In terms of deaths, there were 24 people, with details in North Lampung 7 people, 4 people East Lampung, Pringsewu 3 people, 3 people in the West Coast, 2 people at Central Lampung. Then Bandar Lampung, South Lampung, Way Kanan, Pesawaran and Mesuji respectively one person each,” he said.

Meanwhile, there were 245 cases in September, including 40 people in West Lampung, 29 people in North Lampung, 27 people in East Lampung, 25 people in Pesawaran, 22 person in South Lampung, 21 people in Bandar Lampung, 19 people in Metro.

“Then Pringsewu 16 people, Way Kanan 10 people, Tanggamus 9 people, Mesuji 9 people, Tulangbawang Barat 9 people, Tulang Bawang 5 people, Pesisir Barat 4 people and in case of death there was 1 person from Pesawaran,” he explained.

At the moment, Edwin said that the majority of residents affected by dengue fever are those aged 15-44 years with a percentage of 49.94 percent, those above 44 years at 18.43 per cent percent, those aged 5-14 years at 25.94 percent.

“Then there are 4.90 percent between the ages of 1 to 4 years and 0.79 percent older than 1 year,” he said.

Edwin said his party had made various efforts to reduce the number of dengue fever in Lampung. Such as issuing circular number 38 of 2024 of the Governor regarding preparations to face an increase in cases of dengue infections.

In addition, distribution of logistics in an effort to increase early detection of dengue infections to District and City Health Services is then distributed to all Community Health Centers in each district.

“Strengthening dengue surveillance that can be monitored as an early warning tool for escalating cases as well as quick response to control incidents,” he explained.

Next, strengthen the private mic or public service network of inspection and transmission management to provinces/cities.

“Then community empowerment through additional PSN 3M activities through one house-one jumantik movement to city areas and socialization of dengue vaccine in efforts to overcome dengue,” he concluded.
